Politics as his career – In the year 1996, he was elected as the senator of Illinois State. (1997 – 2004).
His voice about the invasion of Iraq, is the break point where he became popular among everyone. He spoke against the invasion of Iraq by U.S. He said "Let's finish the fight with Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, through effective, coordinated intelligence, and a shutting down of the financial networks that support terrorism, and a homeland security program that involves more than color-coded warnings."
Many bills have been introduced by Obama in the Senate (133 bills). Some of those includes, in 2007 a bill to augment the child tax credit for working and low income families, Global Poverty Act of 2007 which requires the President to establish a approach to fight against the global poverty.
As a senator, he published his 2nd book, “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream” in October 2006. It talks about the vision of Obama regarding the future of America. Of course, this helped Obama during his presidential campaign. His book played justice to its title by throwing light in areas such as need for the emergence of innovative brand of politics which would enable the development of shared understanding so that Americans stay united.
In the year 2008, he made the headlines by defeating Republican presidential nominee John McCain and won the election thus became the 44th president of US. He is the first African-American to hold this position.
In January 2010, he gave his foremost State of the Union speech, where he said
"We don't quit. I don't quit. Let's seize this moment to start anew, to carry the dream forward, and strengthen our union once more."

5. New START treaty which reduces the nuclear missile stockpiles of the U.S. and Russia by half in its amount.
6. Student loan reform.
7. Provided employment within a time span of 14 months by establishing more than 2 million private sector jobs.
8. Equality for LGBT Americans.
9. Expansion of Stem Cell Research.
10. Development of the school nutrition by launching new rules based on the law which includes “Double the amount of fruits and vegetables and require only whole grains in food served to students.”
11. Provided priority of renewable resources technology by investing heavy funds towards it.
12. Affordable Care Act (2010) which covered about 32 million American who are uninsured begins in 2014, which helps in cutting the growth cost of the health care, which acts as the major reason for America’s long term fiscal problems.

Obama has been re elected as the American president because of his unique qualities such as; he has been a man “for the people”. He has understood the heart beat of his people and has brought reforms accordingly. He did not believe in religion but have belief in people. His slow and steady move in his every activity has led to his success.
His spellbinding and transparent speech during a campaign at Maryland “I guarantee you we will move this country forward, we will finish what we started. And we'll remind the world just why it is the United States of America is the greatest nation on Earth." ,has made people to trust him and thus have led to the triumph of Barack Obama.
